Current Grant Assistance Programs
CRA-ED is currently offering three FREE grant assistance programs to small businesses located in Boston. For more information on these programs please check out the resource below and contact CRA-ED directly! These free initiatives are specially designed to help provide an opportunity for economic recovery and growth for Boston small businesses in historically underserved communities (minority-owned, women-owned, LGBTQ-owned, Cooperatives, or owned by low-moderate-income individuals, US Military Veterans, non-native English speakers, or disabled individuals).
2022-23 Citizens Bank Technology Initiative
Empowered by a 2022-23 Citizens grant award of $75,000, BMSF is proud to continue the Technology Initiative and assist small Boston businesses in need of critical technology. The Boston Main Streets Foundation (BMSF) Technology Initiative began three years ago with a grant from Citizens Bank and a mission to modernize Main Street districts with industry-leading technology. Since then, the program has proven to deliver immediate transformation to small businesses at every level of development through an offering of POS technology, online ordering, cost savings, website design/build, and business coaching.
MGCC, Biz-M-Power Grants
Mission: Through crowdfunding campaigns, businesses will advance projects that support economic success and transformation for their business.
- $7.5 million in total program funding that provides businesses between $5k and $40k awards
- Application approvals happen once per month
- Patronicity is crowdfunding partner
- Approved Uses of Funds
Purchasing or leasing equipment, Signage design, and development
Improve interior space through construction enhancements
MGCC, Empower Digital Grants
Mission: Diagnosing digital challenges, developing strategies for digital capabilities, hiring/finding qualified professionals.
- $3.8 million in total program funding that provides up to $5k awards
- Ambit Translation services used as a partner for Spanish speaking businesses
- 2 to 4 week application approval
- Approved Uses of Funds:
Designers (Graphic/Motion), Digital Marketing Strategists, Social Media Strategists, Website/Content Developers, Photographers / Writers
